Arkan Real Estate Company has concluded its summer program “NEXTGEN,” aimed at young people, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. The program was designed to prepare the next generation and equip them with the practical skills and experience needed to enter the job market. The two-week program involved 13 students of various ages and was held at Arkan Real Estate Company’s headquarters. It featured lectures delivered by various departments within the company, introducing students to the fundamentals of the real estate sector and the stages of real estate development—from idea generation and site selection, through design and cost estimation, to execution and marketing. Students also learned about the company’s most prominent ongoing and future projects.
In the practical component, students were divided into working groups, with each group developing a comprehensive real estate project from concept to design. This included selecting an appropriate site, estimating expected expenses and costs, projecting profits and financial returns, and creating an overall project design, thereby simulating the actual steps of real estate project development and the nature of work within a company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange.
The program also included several field trips, including a visit to Souq Al-Mubarakiya, one of Kuwait’s most prominent historic markets and a key milestone in the country’s commercial and real estate history. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the historical roots of Kuwait’s trade and real estate sectors, and to illustrate how traditional markets evolved into the foundation for the modern urban and real estate development witnessed today. Additionally, a field trip to the headquarters of “Kuwait News” gave students the opportunity to closely observe media and journalistic operations, reflecting the company’s strong belief in the importance of the media sector, particularly given the growing interest among young people in pursuing careers in this field.
On this occasion, Dana Al-Ibrahim, Senior Marketing and Public Relations Officer at Arkan Real Estate Company, expressed her pride and happiness at the conclusion of this summer training program, emphasizing that the students benefited greatly from the courses, workshops, and practical applications, all of which contribute to preparing them for the job market.
