Red Crescent: Awareness programs contribute to consolidating the culture of humanitarian and volunteer work among youth

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society organized an introductory visit for a delegation of students participating in a summer program organized by the Islamic World Charity Organization in collaboration with the Public Authority for Youth Affairs, aiming to familiarize them with the Society’s humanitarian mission and strengthen their culture of volunteering and humanitarian work.

Fawaz Al-Muzaroui, the Society’s General Director, told KUNA that the Society is keen to open its doors to young people and youth to introduce them to its humanitarian mission, its national and relief roles, and to instill in them the values of volunteering and giving.

Al-Muzaroui added that the visit program included a first aid training workshop aimed at equipping participants with essential skills for handling emergencies and raising awareness of the importance of rapid response and first aid as a fundamental pillar in saving lives.

He clarified that the visit also featured an introductory session outlining the history of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and its key humanitarian and relief programs both within Kuwait and abroad, alongside a field tour of the Society’s departments to learn about its operational mechanisms, services, and programs in humanitarian and volunteer fields, as well as its role in supporting victims of natural and man-made disasters.

He noted that such visits and awareness programs contribute to fostering humanitarian awareness among younger generations, introducing them to the humanitarian principles underpinning the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and encouraging them to embrace a culture of volunteering, initiative, and community service.

He praised the ongoing cooperation between the Society, the Islamic World Charity Organization, and the Public Authority for Youth Affairs, emphasizing that partnerships among national institutions help prepare a conscious generation equipped with essential skills and committed to the values of social responsibility and humanitarian work, thereby positively impacting community service and strengthening the culture of giving.
