U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces continue to implement measures related to the maritime embargo on Iran, confirming the rerouting of nine commercial vessels and the detention of one vessel as of today, in order to ensure full compliance with the embargo. CENTCOM stated in a post on the X platform: “U.S. sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) monitor operations in the ship’s combat information center as it transits the Arabian Sea, as part of U.S. forces’ efforts to enforce the maritime embargo on Iran. To ensure full compliance with the embargo, CENTCOM has rerouted nine commercial vessels and detained one vessel as of July 22.”
