Study to begin in five Egyptian-Italian schools of applied technology next academic year
Cairo - Ahmed Sabry: As part of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s efforts to expand the system of Applied Technology Schools through international partnerships, the Ministry announced the launch of studies at five Egyptian-Italian Applied Technology Schools, branded as “Giulionata,” in collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and in partnership with the Italian academy “Nova Tecnologia di La Vita,” starting from the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative aims to prepare qualified technical cadres in the fields of electricity and energy through specialized applied education that keeps pace with the latest technological developments and meets labor market needs.
This step comes within the framework of strengthening strategic partnerships between state institutions and specialized partners in training generations of qualified technicians according to advanced educational and training standards, thereby linking the educational process to the actual needs of the electricity and energy sectors and supporting the development of technical education and enhancing its competitiveness.
The new schools offer a number of specialized disciplines in the fields of electricity and energy. They are distributed across five schools in four governorates: one school in Helwan, Cairo Governorate, specializing in distribution network technology; one in Sayeda Zeinab, Cairo Governorate, specializing in transmission lines and transformer stations; one in North Ismailia, Ismailia Governorate, specializing in electrical and mechanical maintenance; one in Montaza Secondary, Alexandria Governorate, specializing in electrical and mechanical maintenance; and one in Aswan City, Aswan Governorate, specializing in solar energy.
The Egyptian-Italian “Giulionata” Applied Technology Schools rely on an advanced educational model that combines academic study with specialized practical training, through an effective partnership with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the “Nova Tecnologia di La Vita” academy. This enables students to acquire practical experience and technical skills in line with the latest practices, preparing them to work in the electricity and energy sectors according to the highest quality standards and professional practices.
