Foreign Ministry: Saudi security is an integral part of Kuwait’s and the GCC’s security
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the baseless allegations made by the Houthi militia’s military spokesperson against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which included threats targeting the freedom and security of maritime navigation. In a statement, the Ministry called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 concerning Yemen and Resolution 2722 concerning the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, emphasizing that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by the rules of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, backing all measures taken to safeguard its security and sovereignty, and stressed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
