Head of the ICRC Regional Delegation: The Kuwait Red Crescent is a key partner in humanitarian initiatives

The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation, Anne Momtazpour, affirmed that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) is a key partner of the ICRC in numerous joint regional and international humanitarian initiatives and programs, commending the society’s prominent humanitarian role and the high regard it enjoys within the humanitarian community.

Momtazpour told KUNA after her visit to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society that cooperation between the ICRC and the society represents a successful model of humanitarian partnership based on coordination and exchange of expertise.

She emphasized the ICRC’s commitment to continuing joint work and developing humanitarian programs and projects to keep pace with growing humanitarian challenges and enhance responses for the most vulnerable groups. She added that the humanitarian initiatives implemented by the society reflect a firm commitment to humanitarian principles, while also contributing to strengthening relief efforts and consolidating the values of humanitarian solidarity at both the regional and international levels.

For his part, Khaled Al-Mughamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, said in a similar statement to KUNA that the society is keen to expand the horizons of cooperation with its international partners and exchange experiences and successful practices to enhance the efficiency of humanitarian work and address growing challenges.

Al-Mughamsi added that the coming phase requires greater integration and coordination, as well as consolidating joint efforts to achieve humanitarian objectives and serve affected communities. He noted that this meeting comes within the framework of strengthening the strategic partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, which maintains close relations and fruitful cooperation with the society spanning many years across various humanitarian fields.
