Comprehensive Strategy to Boost the Egyptian Industry

Cairo – Nihad Imam: Minister of Industry, Eng. Khaled Hashem, affirmed that the accreditation system directly contributes to enhancing the quality of products and services, strengthening consumer and international market confidence, and facilitating the access of Egyptian exports to global markets. It also supports attracting industrial investments by providing a robust quality infrastructure and conformity assessment framework, granting official credibility to conformity assessment bodies in accordance with international standards, while ensuring neutrality and efficiency.

Hashem, during the opening ceremony of this year’s World Accreditation Day, held under the theme “Innovation, Trust, and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation,” stated that the Ministry of Industry has launched an updated comprehensive strategy to advance the Egyptian industrial sector. The strategy identifies seven priority industrial sectors, alongside enabling industries, strategic sectors, and several supporting industries aimed at deepening local manufacturing. It also aims to enhance the implementation of circular economy principles and expand recycling efforts, thereby improving resource efficiency and promoting sustainability, with the goal of integrating into global supply chains.
