The Food Authority participated in the "Halal Standard in Thailand" and "Conscious Consumer" programs
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, represented by the inspection supervisor of Farwaniya Governorate and in cooperation with the Al-Firdaws Food Inspection Center, conducted an inspection tour covering the Al-Aridiyah residential and industrial areas. The tour resulted in the issuance of nine violation reports, along with one destruction report. Additionally, 459.2 kilograms of cut meat were destroyed due to the absence of an official slaughterhouse stamp, which constitutes a violation of applicable health regulations and standards. Necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition participated in the training program “Halal Standards in Thailand,” held from the 13th to the 17th of this month, with the aim of gaining insight into the halal system and standards, certification and accreditation mechanisms, and enhancing the exchange of expertise with relevant authorities. The program included field visits to several entities involved in the halal system, as well as participation in the Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 exhibition, within the framework of strengthening international cooperation and exchanging best practices in the halal sector.
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition also participated in the “Conscious Consumer” summer program, organized by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, aimed at enhancing food awareness among high school students. This was achieved through educational lectures on food security and reducing food loss and waste, alongside interactive workshops on smart shopping and food safety. The program included a field visit to the Shuwaikh Laboratory and an inspection tour of a cooperative society, to familiarize participants with food inspection and control mechanisms, and to link theoretical knowledge with practical application.
