Kuwait Finance House warns against engaging with suspicious links and electronic messages

Continuing its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, aimed at enhancing financial literacy, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banks Association, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has warned against the risks of responding to suspicious messages and links.

Among the methods of online fraud is a message containing a malicious link that prompts the customer to click the link to access a specific website or to vote in a poll. Once the link is clicked, the customer’s device is compromised, allowing unauthorized access to their data, which is then exploited for malicious purposes.

KFH emphasized reminding customers that the bank will never request their personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls. Therefore, customers should avoid responding and sharing their information with such entities, as these are fraudulent attempts designed to obtain banking details in order to steal money or personal data.

Regarding the protection of bank accounts, KFH has provided important advice to customers, such as not saving confidential information like bank card numbers or PINs on mobile phones, refraining from sharing one-time passwords (OTP) with anyone, and logging out of the bank’s application or website immediately after completing a transaction.
