Al-Salmiya kicks off preparations for the upcoming football season

Al-Salmiya’s first football team began its training sessions yesterday evening at the Thamer Stadium within the Al-Salmiya Sports Club, under the guidance of Bahraini coach Ali Ashour and his coaching staff, with the attendance of the club’s board chairman and head of the football department, Sheikh Turki Al-Yousef, in preparation for the new season.

The first training session of “Al-Samawi” (The Sky Blues) saw the attendance of most players, including Uzbek striker Shahzod Azimov, and international player Mubarak Al-Finani, who joined from Al-Qadsiah after spending three seasons with “Al-Asfar” (The Yellows). A small number of players missed the team’s first training session for various reasons.

Al-Salmiya is scheduled to depart in the coming days for an external training camp, where they will play several friendly matches before the launch of the Zain League Premier Division on August 25 next year, featuring 12 teams.
