Qatar's Emir Discusses Regional and International Developments in Phone Call with Canadian Prime Minister

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, held talks today, Monday, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on regional and international developments. A statement issued by the Qatari Diwan Al Amiri stated that this came during a phone call received by the Amir of Qatar from the Canadian Prime Minister, during which he conveyed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies on the passing of the late Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him. The Amir of Qatar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Canadian Prime Minister for his feelings and sincere condolences. During the call, the two sides reviewed the cooperative relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them across various fields, as well as exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the region. The Amir of Qatar also conveyed his congratulations to the Canadian Prime Minister on the success of his country, in partnership with the United States of America and Mexico, in hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
