Sisi Reiterates Egypt's Complete Rejection of Unjustified Attacks on Arab States

Cairo - Khadija Hamouda

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position supporting the sovereignty and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, reiterating Egypt’s complete rejection of unjustified attacks on fraternal Arab states.

During a meeting yesterday with Jakov Milatović, President of Montenegro, President el-Sisi emphasized the necessity of continued coordination among various partners and encouraged the American and Iranian sides to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement. The President also presented Egypt’s vision regarding the urgent need to achieve a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions. He stressed Egypt’s rejection of any efforts aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land, and emphasized in this regard the necessity of reconstructing the Gaza Strip and delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

Spokesman for the Presidency Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the talks between the two presidents covered a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, with the President outlining Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and reach peaceful solutions to crises and conflicts.

The presidential spokesperson noted that the President highlighted the particular significance of this visit, as it is the first at the presidential level since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries following Montenegro’s independence in 2006. He also stressed Egypt’s commitment to exploring new horizons for developing bilateral relations, particularly in the economic sector and diversifying trade, taking advantage of the promising opportunities available in both countries. The President also commended the Montenegrin parliament for forming a parliamentary friendship group with Egypt, considering it an important pillar for strengthening official and people-to-people relations.

He added that President Milatović expressed his country’s eagerness to benefit from Egypt’s distinguished expertise in the tourism, energy, and infrastructure sectors, pointing to successful Egyptian investments in Montenegro’s tourism sector and Montenegro’s desire to increase the volume and scope of these investments to include other areas. He also expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in combating illegal migration.

The President of Montenegro praised the strong alignment between the positions of the two countries regarding international crises, which are based on prioritizing diplomatic solutions and joint cooperation over the option of war or the use of force. He expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts, under the leadership of President el-Sisi, in supporting regional stability and security, and reaffirmed his country’s support for the two-state solution. President Milatović invited the Egyptian President to visit Montenegro in the near future.
