Director Mohammed Al-Shatti, Member of the Jury at the 19th International Theater Festival

Bashar Jasim Al-Kandari: Dr. Jamal Yaqout, head of the International Theater Section at the 19th edition of the festival, announced the formation of the jury for the long performances, chaired by Prof. Abu Al-Hassan Salam, and including artists Sama Ibrahim, Dr. Hussam Daqqa, Ahmed Ismail, director Mohammed Al-Shatti, artist Amr Abdullah, and artist Youssef Al-Balushi.

This year’s edition is named the “Bioum Fouad Artist Edition” in honor of his artistic career. The festival’s activities began the day before yesterday in Alexandria and will continue until the 24th, featuring theater performances from several Arab and foreign countries, as part of the festival’s efforts to support distinguished theatrical experiments and highlight creative talents.

In a statement to Al-Anbaa, director Mohammed Al-Shatti expressed his happiness at being selected as a jury member, saying, “I feel great joy at this trust, especially since the festival is among the important theater events. This edition sees participation from performances in Egypt, Jordan, Bulgaria, and Greece.”

He added, “This participation marks my first international experience as a jury member, after my previous roles were limited to local juries, most notably the ‘Back Stage’ theater festival. I have also participated as a director in numerous Arab theater festivals, and I look forward to this new experience, as it represents an opportunity to exchange expertise and learn about diverse theatrical works.”
