Kuwait’s stc telecommunications company announced a simulated evacuation of its main building in the Capital Tower, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior and the Medical Emergency Management at the Ministry of Health, with participation from company employees. The exercise aimed to enhance the readiness of response teams and raise awareness of safety procedures in emergency situations.
The simulated evacuation was conducted in the presence of representatives from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, who oversaw the implementation of the evacuation plan and verified its compliance with standards and regulations approved by official authorities, ensuring the safety of all company employees in unexpected emergency circumstances.
In a statement, stc clarified that the simulated evacuation is part of its risk management strategy, emphasizing the company’s commitment to meeting all civil defense requirements. These include appointing staff guides on each floor to oversee evacuation operations, installing directional signage at entrances and exits, and ensuring the readiness of safety systems such as alarms, internal loudspeakers, fire hoses, and smoke detectors. The company also designates assembly points and emergency corridors, and conducts regular training for employees in first aid.
