Chinese-Syrian Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Trade Cooperation
The President of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation, Ala’a Al-Ali, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian-Chinese Business Council, on the sidelines of the International Syrian Textile Exhibition “Nas Tex 2026,” held at the new Damascus Exhibition City, with the aim of enhancing commercial and investment cooperation between Syria and China. The Telegram channel of the Chambers of Commerce Federation reported yesterday that the memorandum stipulates expanding cooperation areas in trade and investment, organizing bilateral conferences and forums, exchanging economic information, supporting partnership opportunities in priority sectors, and cooperating in training, technology transfer, and the preparation of sectoral studies.
In the same context, Al-Ali discussed with the Libyan economic delegation participating in the International Syrian Textile Exhibition events, in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to Damascus, Walid Ammar, ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Syria and Libya and broaden the horizons of partnership between the chambers of commerce in the two countries, particularly in the textile sector and related industries. The Federation stated that Al-Ali toured the exhibition sections and participating companies, noting the large attendance that reflects the exhibition’s status as an international platform bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, and textile industry experts.
During his tour, Al-Ali listened to explanations from exhibitors about the latest technologies used in textile manufacturing, production lines, and raw materials, emphasizing that such events constitute an important opportunity to support the national industry, open up to external markets, and enhance the presence of Syrian products in regional and international markets.
The International Syrian Textile Exhibition “Nas Tex 2026” opened last Saturday for its first edition at the new Damascus Exhibition City, under the patronage and in the presence of President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, with wide official attendance and international delegations, and a notable participation from businessmen and economic entities.
