CENTCOM: US Forces Changed Course of 7 Commercial Ships Since Resumption of Naval Blockade on Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. military forces had altered the course of seven commercial vessels and detained an eighth since the resumption of the naval blockade on Iran. In a post on its X account, CENTCOM stated: “U.S. personnel aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) support day and night flight operations in the Arabian Sea as part of CENTCOM’s blockade of Iran.” It added: “As of July 20, U.S. forces had diverted the course of seven commercial vessels and detained one vessel to prevent it from leaving or entering Iranian ports.”
