Bahrain and Jordan in the crosshairs of Iranian attacks... CENTCOM sanctions the IRGC

Iran has continued its reprehensible attacks, which have targeted Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan over the past few days. The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several of Iran’s treacherous aerial attacks yesterday. In a statement, the Command said Iran is persisting in its systematic hostile approach through its heinous attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain, emphasizing that all its weapons and units are at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to defend the Kingdom “with firm resolve and high combat readiness.” The General Command urged everyone to exercise caution, avoid approaching any foreign or suspicious objects resulting from the remnants of Iran’s brutal attack, and report them immediately. It stressed that the deliberate use of missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Earlier, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the sounding of air raid sirens across the Kingdom and called on citizens and residents to remain calm, seek the nearest safe shelter, and follow official news channels.

In Jordan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Amman yesterday, delivering a strongly worded protest message against the continuation of Iran’s brutal and unjustified attacks targeting Jordanian territory, as well as the inflammatory and provocative statements issued by Iranian official entities regarding the Kingdom. Spokesman for the Ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, confirmed to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the Ministry had requested the Chargé d’Affaires to convey a clear message to his country to immediately cease attacks on the Kingdom, emphasizing that Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens constitute a red line that cannot be violated, as well as the necessity to halt the unacceptable inflammatory rhetoric. Al-Majali clarified that the Ministry reiterated its condemnation and rejection of Iran’s brutal attacks, which represent a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter. He also affirmed Jordan’s condemnation of Iran’s brutal attacks targeting the sister Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Jordan’s absolute solidarity and support for them in all steps they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents. Al-Majali reiterated that Jordan will continue to take all available and necessary steps to protect the safety of its citizens, its security, and its sovereignty.

The Jordanian Army had previously announced the downing of three Iranian missiles out of four that targeted Jordanian territory, with the fourth missile falling in a remote area in the south of the Kingdom, far from populated areas. A senior military source in the General Command of the Armed Forces – the Arab Army – stated that the incident resulted in no casualties or material damage.

Following reports of the evacuation of the port and airport in Aqaba, Government Spokesman and Minister of Communications Dr. Mohammed Al-Mumani confirmed that the relevant authorities had not issued any evacuation orders for Aqaba Airport or the port. In a statement reported by Petra News Agency, Dr. Al-Mumani said that King Hussein International Airport and the port in Aqaba are operating normally, and affairs are proceeding as usual in accordance with pre-established procedures, which include the immediate sounding of air raid sirens.

Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday morning the completion of another round of strikes against Iran, under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief. In statements on the X platform, it said, “During the eighth consecutive night of US strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully targeted Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, naval capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites, as part of ongoing efforts to undermine Iran’s military capabilities.” It added that the strikes targeted Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against US military personnel in Jordan two days prior, emphasizing that the eighth wave of strikes against Iran aimed to further undermine Iran’s ability to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and to immediately punish the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps for the attacks it launched against US personnel in Jordan.
