The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry has contributed 250,000 Kuwaiti dinars to support the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, launched by the Fund on July 5, with the aim of enhancing national readiness and boosting the State of Kuwait’s capacity to respond immediately to challenges and exceptional circumstances. The Fund emphasized that this contribution embodies an effective national partnership between the public and private sectors, and contributes to supporting and financing efforts aimed at strengthening the state’s preparedness to confront the emergency conditions and costs resulting from Iranian aggression and its proxies. It also reflects a spirit of national responsibility and societal solidarity in supporting Kuwait’s security and stability, and rallying around its wise leadership.
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development praised the economic and commercial role played by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry since its establishment in 1959, recognizing it as the principal representative of the private sector and an active partner in supporting Kuwait’s economic development journey. The Fund affirmed that the Chamber contributes to enhancing the business environment, representing the interests of the private sector, participating in shaping economic and trade policies, and linking the Kuwaiti business community with regional and international economic institutions and organizations.
The Fund clarified that the establishment of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund falls within the framework of an initiative proposed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and approved by the Council of Ministers. The Fund oversees the management and full supervision of the fund’s operations, ensuring the provision of a flexible institutional mechanism that enables the state to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency conditions, in line with a comprehensive national vision that enhances the preparedness of state institutions and the sustainability of their capabilities.
In this context, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development renewed its call on government institutions, public authorities, private sector companies, and national financial institutions to actively contribute to supporting the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. It emphasized that supporting this fund represents a strategic national investment that enhances developmental security, raises the level of national readiness, and strengthens the State of Kuwait’s capacity to confront various challenges and exceptional circumstances.
