The Australian University Ranks Among the Top 201–300 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings

The Australian University in Kuwait has been ranked among the top 201–300 universities globally in the 2026 Impact Rankings released by Times Higher Education (THE), out of 1,603 higher education institutions participating from around the world. The results also reflect the university’s outstanding performance across several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Australian University in Kuwait ranked first in Kuwait for Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), underscoring its strategic commitment to enhancing sustainability, inclusivity, and societal impact on both local and global scales. Globally, the university achieved rank 44 in Goal 8, rank 28 in Goal 10, and rank 43 in Goal 5.

These outstanding results highlight the continuous efforts made by the Australian University in Kuwait to foster an inclusive academic environment, promote equal opportunities, and generate tangible societal impact through education, scientific research, and institutional engagement.

The Impact Rankings, published by Times Higher Education, are the only comprehensive global ranking that evaluates universities based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The ranking relies on a rigorous, internationally recognized methodology to assess university performance across four key pillars: research, leadership, community engagement, and teaching, thereby providing a holistic evaluation of universities’ contributions to sustainable development.
