Al-Rashid Participates in the 96th Session of the Executive Council of the Arab Educational Organization for Gulf Countries
The Ministry of Education, represented by its Deputy Minister Dr. Khalid Al-Rashid, participated in the proceedings of the 96th session of the Executive Council of the Arab Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, which was held via video conferencing with representatives of member states in attendance.
In a press statement, the ministry said Kuwait’s participation underscores its ongoing role in supporting joint GCC efforts and contributing to the development of educational initiatives and programs that address the requirements of the coming phase, thereby enhancing the quality of education and keeping pace with rapid transformations in the education sector.
The ministry noted that the Council discussed during its sessions the Director General’s report on the implementation status of educational programs and projects, as well as the work of specialized bodies during the 2025–2026 financial year. The report highlighted key achievements realized under joint plans among member states, reflecting the continued development of the GCC educational system.
It pointed out that the Council approved the program and project plans for the strategic plan covering the periods 2027–2028 and 2029–2030, along with their respective estimated budgets. This step aims to enhance the sustainability of educational programs and initiatives and reaffirms member states’ commitment to continuing the development of education in line with unified strategic visions.
The ministry added that the Council reviewed a report on the financial sustainability of the Arab Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for GCC Countries, aimed at improving resource management efficiency and ensuring the continuity of implementing its programs and projects. It also approved amendments to three job grades within the approved structure of the Arab Center for Educational Research for GCC Countries during the current financial year.
Furthermore, it highlighted the participation of the Kuwaiti delegation in discussions during the side workshops of the session, which addressed the latest educational trends. The first workshop focused on “Shadow Education and Its Impact on Supporting the Educational Process.”
The second workshop, titled “Advantages and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Education,” explored opportunities for leveraging AI technologies to develop education, as well as the challenges associated with the responsible and effective use of these technologies, in alignment with Kuwait’s direction toward digital transformation and the development of its educational system.
