The Supreme Council of the Judiciary and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed developments in international humanitarian law and human rights

The Chairman of the Higher Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, Justice Dr. Adel Bursali, held talks with Ambassador Sheikh Jauhar Al-Duwaikh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights Affairs, on the latest developments in the fields of international humanitarian law and human rights. The Higher Judicial Council stated in a press release that during Justice Dr. Bursali’s reception of Sheikh Jauhar at the new Justice Palace, discussions were held on areas concerning the protection and welfare of the Kuwaiti family, children’s rights, and all matters related to safeguarding the rights and interests of the State of Kuwait domestically and internationally. It added that an agreement was reached to continue coordination and follow-up on these and other issues. Attending the meeting were Justice Saleh Al-Raqdan, Vice President of the Court of Cassation; Justice Mohammed Al-Rifai, President of the Court of Appeal; Justice Khaled Al-Othman, Vice President of the Supreme Court; and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Abu Shibe, Assistant Undersecretary for Human Rights Affairs; Adviser Bashar Al-Muwaisiri; and Second Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Haya Al-Darisi.
