Zain Kuwait was crowned the Leading Company in 5G-Advanced Network Innovations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for 2026 by Capital Finance International. The company stated that Capital Finance awarded it this prize in recognition of its leadership in developing advanced network technologies, their practical application to deliver tangible value to customers, business sectors, and targeted goals of Kuwait’s digital economy.
Capital Finance International conducted a comprehensive evaluation, highlighting Zain Kuwait’s practical approach, which is firmly grounded in the innovations and applications of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technologies at both operational and commercial levels. The jury commended the company’s ability to align network investments with customer behavior, spectrum economics, service quality, and long-term strategic value, rather than adopting technologies purely from a technical standpoint without considering their actual impact.
Notably, this achievement reflects Zain Kuwait’s transformation journey to become an integrated technology company that places customers at the heart of its operations, in line with its operational strategy “4WARD – Advancing with Purpose” and in accordance with the objectives of “Kuwait 2035 Vision.” Zain was among the first companies to commercially launch 5G-Advanced services on a wide scale in Kuwait during 2025, providing coverage across most of the country and establishing a more advanced foundation to enable the next generation of digital services.
Zain Kuwait recently announced its success in completing a data transfer rate test reaching 31 gigabits per second, using advanced multi-carrier spectrum aggregation technologies across sub-6 GHz bands (using n77, n78, and n41 bands) and millimeter waves (mmWave). This reflects its continued commitment to investing in future-ready technological infrastructure and its ongoing focus on developing network capabilities to meet growing demand and enable the next generation of digital services.
This technical achievement embodies Zain’s excellence in developing its network and efficiently directing its investments through strategic densification in high-usage areas, intelligent capacity management, and enhanced capabilities at sites delivering the highest value to individual and corporate customers. It also reflects the network’s readiness to support advanced fixed wireless access solutions, customized connectivity services for large enterprises, large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) applications, smart environments, and applications requiring high data transfer speeds and ultra-low latency.
A key element of Zain Kuwait’s approach is its transition from relying on traditional network performance indicators to a management model that places customer experience at the core of its operations. By leveraging analytics and AI-powered tools, Zain can detect potential faults early, analyze data traffic patterns, enhance response speed to outages, and proactively improve performance in commercial areas, high-density locations, and other zones experiencing intensive data usage.
This approach ensures that network innovation is measured not only according to technical standards and indicators, but also based on its actual impact on service reliability, performance stability, response time, and overall customer experience.
