Adidas Achieves Record Sales at the World Cup
Adidas said it sold four times as many sports shirts during the 2026 FIFA World Cup as in the previous World Cup, and also sold twice as many balls. Citing CEO Bjorn Gulden, the company said, “Overall, we expect tournament-related sales of around 1.5 billion euros, which also includes football-inspired apparel seeing high demand everywhere.” Adidas noted its sponsorship of Spain and Argentina, the finalists in the World Cup, according to the German News Agency (DPA). The company added, “Seeing two teams, along with the referees, wearing the three-stripe logo in the 2026 World Cup final is more than we could have hoped for.” It further stated that among the 14 national teams wearing Adidas kits, the Mexico jersey was the best-selling, followed closely by Argentina, while the Spain jersey also saw strong demand.
