Jordan Summons Iranian Chargé d'Affaires in Protest of Continued Iranian Aggressions Against Kingdom's Territory

Amman – Agencies: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian acting ambassador in Amman on Sunday and delivered a strongly worded protest message against the continued, blatant, and unjustified Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom’s territory, as well as the inflammatory and provocative statements issued by official Iranian entities regarding the Kingdom.

Spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, stated, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that the ministry instructed the acting ambassador to convey a clear message to his country to immediately halt the attacks on the Kingdom. He emphasized that Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens constitute a red line that cannot be violated, and stressed the necessity of ceasing the unacceptable inflammatory rhetoric.

Al-Majali clarified that the ministry condemned and denounced the blatant Iranian attacks, which represent a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and an egregious breach of international law and the UN Charter.

He also reaffirmed Jordan’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the sister countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, expressing Jordan’s absolute solidarity and support for them in all steps they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

Al-Majali reiterated that Jordan will continue to take all available and necessary measures to safeguard the safety of its citizens, its security, and its sovereignty.
