Qatari Emir Discusses Diplomatic Efforts and Coordination to De-escalate Tensions in the Region with Turkish Foreign Minister

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at his office in Lusail Palace.

The Amiri Diwan said in a statement that Fidan conveyed condolences to the Amir on the passing of the late, may God have mercy upon him, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. For his part, the Amir expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the minister for his sincere feelings and condolences.

The meeting also reviewed the close cooperative relations between the two countries, as well as the latest regional and international developments, foremost among them recent developments in the region, particularly the diplomatic efforts undertaken and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

Attending the meeting were Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Head of the Amiri Diwan.
