Search for thieves who stole seven cameras from a commercial property

Ahmad Khamis: Officers from the General Administration of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Farwaniya Investigations Department, launched an inquiry to identify the unknown individuals who deliberately disrupted the surveillance system of a commercial building by destroying several cameras and removing electrical wiring, in an attempt to conceal their traces and evade prosecution. A security source stated that the perpetrators managed to seize seven surveillance cameras along with their associated electrical wiring, noting that one camera, which was not damaged or stolen, successfully recorded images of the thieves, which could help expedite their identification and arrest. The source added that the deputy public prosecutor ordered officers from the General Administration of Forensic Evidence to visit the scene to collect traces and fingerprints that the perpetrators may have left, in preparation for their use in the course of the investigation, pointing out that it remains unclear whether the suspects confined themselves to stealing the surveillance cameras and their accessories, or whether they also managed to steal any other property from the commercial building. According to the source, the building’s management reported to the Ministry of Interior’s operations room that unknown individuals broke open an emergency exit door and entered the building before proceeding to steal the surveillance cameras and damage parts of the system. The building’s management confirmed that, after reviewing the surveillance system recordings, they found that one camera had retained clear footage of the perpetrators, which enhances the chances of locating them and referring them to the competent authorities to take legal action against them.
