Iran Expands Its Attacks in the Gulf and Jordan, Targeting Infrastructure and Civilians

Iran has escalated its attacks on the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the scope of these reprehensible assaults expanding to include Jordan, as seen in recent days, targeting civilian facilities and vital infrastructure.

The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a number of treacherous Iranian missiles and drones yesterday morning. In a statement, the General Command emphasized that Iran continues its systematic hostile approach through these heinous attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It stressed that the deliberate use of missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Reiterating that all its weapons and units are at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to defend the Kingdom, the General Command called on everyone to exercise caution and avoid approaching any foreign or suspicious objects resulting from the brutal Iranian aggression. It further stated that the air defense systems of the Bahrain Defense Force intercepted and destroyed a number of treacherous Iranian aerial attacks.

Earlier, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced that air raid sirens had sounded approximately six times since dawn yesterday, urging citizens and residents to remain calm, seek the nearest safe location, and follow news through official channels.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Civil Defense announced yesterday that the threat had passed in the cities of Yanbu and Al-Kharj, urging the continuation of safety protocols. In a brief statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Saudi Civil Defense said, “The threat has passed over Yanbu. For your safety, please continue to follow Civil Defense instructions and avoid gathering and filming entirely.” In a separate statement, it confirmed that the threat had ended in Al-Kharj, adding, “For your safety, continue to follow Civil Defense instructions and avoid gathering and filming.”

Previously, the Saudi Civil Defense had issued two separate statements warning of a threat via the National Early Warning Platform in Yanbu and Al-Kharj.

Concurrently, the Jordanian Army announced yesterday the interception and downing of four drones and ten Iranian missiles that entered the country’s airspace, targeting Jordanian territory in the largest attack since the resumption of Iranian assaults last week.

A senior military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated in a press release yesterday that “the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down four drones that entered the Kingdom’s airspace during the past 24 hours.” The source added that no casualties or material damage resulted from the response to the drones.

Earlier that day, a military source in the General Command also announced in a statement that air defense systems intercepted ten Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace and were targeting the Kingdom’s territory, successfully shooting them down. The statement noted that the interception and downing process resulted in no casualties or material damage, and that Royal Engineers teams began their duties at the debris impact sites, working to secure and manage them.

The Jordanian Army affirmed the readiness of its forces to counter any threat targeting the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens, whether drones or missiles, and to take necessary operational measures to intercept and thwart such threats. It emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to monitor the Kingdom’s airspace and follow various developments, maintaining the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to deal with any threat.
