CENTCOM: Targeting Iranian naval capabilities and underground weapons depots

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it struck Iranian underground logistical sites and weapons storage facilities, as U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that the United States is winning the war against Iran, emphasizing that the results of the current conflict would become evident soon.

In an official statement posted on the X platform yesterday, CENTCOM said it targeted surveillance sites, military logistical infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and naval capabilities. U.S. forces employed fighter jets, drones, warships, and other military assets in the strikes.

The command stated that it is continuing to hold Iran accountable, in accordance with the Commander-in-Chief’s directives, while maintaining a comprehensive naval blockade on Iranian ports. More than 50,000 U.S. soldiers are deployed across the Middle East, standing ready and vigilant, and possessing high combat effectiveness.

The day before, CENTCOM announced a wave of strikes aimed at “continuing to undermine Iranian military capabilities.” It reported that its forces successfully destroyed a surveillance tower at Iran’s Chabahar port, which was part of a maritime surveillance network stretching along Iran’s coast facing the Sea of Oman.

In a post on X, CENTCOM added that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had used the tower for decades to track and target commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The command noted that destroying the tower directly weakens the Revolutionary Guard’s ability to coordinate attacks against crews of innocent civilian vessels. Furthermore, the strike contributes to protecting freedom of navigation in territorial waters for all ships, except those attempting to breach the current U.S. naval blockade imposed on Iran.

On the ground, local authorities in Hormozgan Province in southern Iran reported that 116 telecommunications towers were taken out of service, with landline, mobile, and internet lines disrupted in some northern areas of the province.

In Khuzestan Province, the deputy governor stated that the United States had launched attacks on 95 sites across 12 cities over the past ten days, according to the Tasnim Iranian news agency.

Meanwhile, Iran announced yesterday the suspension of all its commitments under the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States last month. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said, “We have suspended our commitments; we are not implementing them.”
