Boubyan Bank has continued to solidify its position among the leading listed institutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), after ranking third within the Kuwaiti banking sector in MEED’s annual ranking of the top 100 listed companies in the region for 2026. It also placed 54th regionally on the list, which features an elite group of the largest listed companies across various economic sectors.
Boubyan’s continued presence in this prestigious regional ranking reflects the strength of its financial position and its ability to achieve balanced and sustainable growth, despite an operational environment characterized by high competition and market fluctuations. The bank’s market capitalization reached $10 billion, with revenues hitting $1 billion and net profit amounting to $0.3 billion.
This ranking holds particular significance as it is not limited to the banking sector alone but includes the largest listed companies in the MENA region across various industries, underscoring the advanced status Boubyan has achieved among the region’s major economic institutions.
Commenting on this achievement, Abdul Salam Al-Saleh, CEO of Boubyan Bank, stated that the bank’s continued presence on MEED’s list of the top 100 listed companies in the MENA region is a key indicator of the robustness of the bank’s business model and its ability to translate operational growth into sustainable market value, thereby enhancing the confidence of investors, shareholders, and customers in the bank’s current and future trajectory.
He added that the $10 billion market capitalization reflects market confidence in Boubyan’s performance, strategy, and ability to sustain growth. He noted that market capitalization is not merely a number; it reflects the bank’s leadership position in regional markets and investor confidence in the bank’s strength, performance quality, and future prospects for generating sustainable returns and creating long-term value.
Al-Saleh explained that Boubyan’s current achievements are the result of an integrated system based on financial discipline, operational efficiency, continuous investment in infrastructure and modern technologies, human capital development, and strengthened risk management and governance. These factors support the bank’s ability to achieve balanced growth and sustainable value for shareholders and customers.
He pointed out that revenues reaching $1 billion reflect the expansion of the bank’s customer base and the diversification of income sources. He clarified that the consistent achievement of strong profitability levels confirms the bank’s ability to balance growth and expansion with performance quality and risk management.
Sustainable Growth and Long-Term Vision
Al-Saleh emphasized that maintaining the third position within the Kuwaiti banking sector reflects the solid standing Boubyan has successfully established over the past years, as well as its ability to compete in a banking sector characterized by high levels of efficiency and financial strength. He noted that this continuous local and regional presence is evidence of the bank’s ability to maintain its upward trajectory and enhance its competitiveness.
He added that the regional and global rankings Boubyan continues to achieve should not be viewed as isolated accomplishments, but rather as part of a journey that reflects clear strategic vision, disciplined execution, and the ability to adapt to changes and convert them into opportunities that support sustainable growth and enhance added value for all stakeholders.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Saleh affirmed that Boubyan will continue to work on strengthening its position among the leading banking institutions in the region by focusing on disciplined growth, improving performance efficiency, and investing in enablers that support business sustainability. This approach will enhance the bank’s ability to achieve further progress and consolidate its place among the major listed institutions in regional capital markets.
