Conclusion of the Egyptian-Turkish Joint Training Exercise "Golden Eagle"

Cairo – Khadija Hamouda The joint Egyptian-Turkish training exercise “Golden Eagle” concluded with the participation of elements from the Egyptian Paratroopers and Commando Forces and the Turkish Special Forces. The exercise was carried out over several days at combat training grounds under the command of Egypt’s Paratroopers and Commando Forces.

The final phase of the training included a simulated raid on a terrorist stronghold within a residential area using helicopters, during which hostages were liberated and terrorist operatives were apprehended.

Additionally, a number of standard and non-standard shooting drills were conducted, along with training in close-quarters room-clearing techniques, vertical assaults using flight simulators, procedures for handling explosive devices, first aid and life-saving rescue techniques, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and methods to counter them, free-fall simulation in a vertical wind tunnel, and operational free-fall jumps.

A “jump of friendship” featuring the flags of both countries was also performed, showcasing the high level and advanced technical skills achieved by the participating personnel.

The final phase of the training was attended by several commanders from the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces, as well as the Turkish military attaché in Cairo.
