"Ministers of Media": Legal action against promoters of fake job advertisements

Cairo – Ahmed Sabri The Media Center of the Council of Ministers issued a statement through its social media platforms, clarifying the truth behind a circulating video alleging that individuals and companies claim to provide overseas employment opportunities and are seizing citizens’ funds under the guise of lacking government oversight.

The Center stated in its statement that, upon contacting the Ministry of Labor, it was confirmed that all job opportunities, whether domestic or abroad, are announced exclusively through the Ministry’s official channels, specifically its website at https://www.labour.gov.eg or its official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/1EFkXb91hR. It further confirmed that applications for all job opportunities are free of charge, with no fees collected from applicants and no involvement of intermediaries in this regard.

The Ministry of Labor emphasized that it is the sole official authority responsible for fully overseeing the regulation of the movement of national labor abroad, implementing bilateral labor agreements and memoranda of understanding signed with friendly and sister countries. It directly supervises all stages of worker selection in coordination with corresponding government authorities in receiving countries, ensuring the integrity of procedures and the protection of citizens’ rights.

The Ministry reaffirmed its full commitment to pursuing legal action against any entities proven to be involved in promoting fake job advertisements or collecting money from citizens under the pretext of providing overseas employment opportunities, in coordination with security agencies and relevant authorities.

It also clarified that applications for all job opportunities, both domestic and abroad, are submitted directly through its official pages, which include all details regarding required professions, conditions, criteria, and application procedures for advertised positions.
