Abdul Karim Al-Abdullah: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi held an extensive meeting at the Crisis Center in the Diwan of the Ministry of Health, attended by Deputy Minister Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, ministry leadership, directors of vital departments, and members of the Central Emergency Committee. The meeting aimed to monitor the latest developments in the current situation and assess the readiness of the healthcare system across various sectors.
The meeting reviewed operational readiness reports for hospitals, primary healthcare centers, ambulance services, emergency departments, and intensive care units. It also monitored the readiness of medical warehouses and the strategic stockpile of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring the continuous provision of healthcare services with efficiency under all circumstances.
The discussion covered emergency response plans and coordination mechanisms among the ministry’s sectors, enhancing response speed, raising operational readiness levels, and continuously reviewing precautionary measures to keep pace with developments in the situation. These efforts aim to ensure the safety of patients and the uninterrupted continuity of healthcare services.
The Minister of Health emphasized the importance of proactive readiness, ongoing field monitoring, and improved coordination among all ministry sectors to enhance performance efficiency and ensure swift handling of any new developments in accordance with approved national plans.
He stressed that all hospitals, primary healthcare centers, and health facilities continue to provide their services normally, supported by comprehensive readiness of medical, technical, and administrative staff, and the continued availability of medicines, medical supplies, and strategic reserves. This underscores the healthcare system’s capacity to continue fulfilling its mission with efficiency and competence.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s continuous monitoring of the current situation and its commitment to maintaining the highest levels of readiness, ensuring the sustainability of healthcare services and the protection of public health.
On another note, Deputy Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit to check on several victims of the reprehensible Iranian aggression who are receiving medical care, assessing the level of healthcare services provided to them and the progress of their treatment plans.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Health said that Sheikh Dr. Salman Al-Sabah reviewed the health conditions of the injured during the visit and listened to briefings from the treating medical teams regarding the therapeutic measures taken since their arrival at the hospital.
Deputy Minister Sheikh Dr. Salman Al-Sabah emphasized the deployment of all medical capabilities and resources to ensure the provision of the highest standards of healthcare, with continuous follow-up of cases until treatment is completed. He added that medical teams in the accident, surgery, orthopedics, and intensive care departments began handling the cases immediately upon their arrival, according to approved emergency plans, with a high degree of readiness and efficiency. Several of the injured underwent specialized surgical interventions, while the remaining cases continue to be monitored according to their medical needs and treatment plans.
He praised the high level of efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by the medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff, commending the rapid response and coordination among various departments and specialties, which reflects the healthcare system’s readiness and ability to handle different emergency cases with competence and effectiveness.
He confirmed that the Ministry of Health continues to monitor all cases and provide all necessary medical care, driven by its national and humanitarian responsibilities and its commitment to delivering healthcare services according to the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
