Kuwait Association for the Prevention of Family Disintegration Elects New Board of Directors

The Kuwaiti Association for the Prevention of Family Disintegration held its general assembly meeting last Sunday, attended by general assembly members to discuss agenda items, review the association’s activities over the past period, and approve decisions related to administrative, financial, and organizational matters.

The meeting featured discussions of the administrative and financial reports, which outlined programs, initiatives, and activities implemented by the association in the previous period, alongside a presentation of financial data. The general assembly approved and adopted both reports, and also ratified the selection of a new auditor in accordance with established procedures and regulations.

Furthermore, the general assembly elected the new board of directors by acclamation. The board is chaired by Khaled Al-Mutairi, with Dr. Mariam Al-Azmi as Vice President, Eng. Dalal Al-Zayani as Secretary General, Fawaz Al-Ajmi as Treasurer, and board members Dr. Nasser Al-Sahou, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Harbi, and Captain Al-Makhzoum.

The new board of directors emphasized that the upcoming phase will see the continuation of institutional and community efforts to strengthen the stability of Kuwaiti families, prevent the causes of family disintegration, and mitigate its psychological, social, and educational impacts, particularly those affecting children’s well-being, stability, and future.

The board clarified that the association’s role extends beyond raising awareness about the dangers of family disintegration; it also includes preparing initiatives and proposals, organizing programs and events, participating in discussions on family issues, and enhancing cooperation with government entities, civil society organizations, and specialists in legal, social, psychological, and educational fields. These efforts aim to consolidate a culture of dialogue, understanding, and shared responsibility within the family.

The board stressed the association’s commitment to continuing its national role with full responsibility and transparency, working to convey family issues and needs to relevant authorities, and contributing to the development of initiatives and measures that enhance family protection, safeguard children’s rights, and support social cohesion.

For his part, Board Chairman Khaled Al-Mutairi affirmed that the association is driven by a firm belief that the family constitutes the fundamental nucleus of society, and that protecting it from disintegration is a shared national and community responsibility. He noted that the board will work to implement practical and sustainable initiatives and programs that yield tangible impacts on the lives of Kuwaiti families.

Al-Mutairi added that the trust placed in the board by general assembly members represents a significant responsibility, emphasizing the board’s dedication to working with a team spirit and building effective partnerships with state institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations. These collaborations aim to prevent family conflicts before they occur and to enhance social stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the board of directors expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the general assembly members for their trust and participation, reaffirming that the association will continue to fulfill its mission of supporting Kuwaiti families and working to realize its vision of building stable families and a more cohesive and secure society.
