Minister of Health: Full readiness of the health system and enhanced emergency response speed

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi held an expanded meeting at the Crisis Center in the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Health, attended by Deputy Minister Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, ministry leadership, directors of vital departments, and members of the Central Emergency Committee. The meeting aimed to monitor current developments and assess the readiness of the healthcare system across various sectors.

The meeting reviewed operational readiness reports for hospitals, primary healthcare centers, ambulance services, emergency departments, and intensive care units, alongside monitoring the readiness of medical warehouses and the strategic stockpile of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring the continuous provision of healthcare services efficiently under all circumstances.

The meeting also discussed emergency response plans and coordination mechanisms among the ministry’s sectors, enhancing response speed, raising operational readiness levels, and continuously reviewing precautionary measures to keep pace with evolving situations and ensure the safety of patients and uninterrupted healthcare services.

The Minister of Health emphasized the importance of proactive readiness, ongoing field monitoring, and improved coordination among all ministry sectors to enhance performance efficiency and ensure swift handling of any developments in accordance with approved national plans.

He stressed that all hospitals, primary healthcare centers, and health facilities continue to provide their services normally, supported by comprehensive readiness of medical, technical, and administrative staff, and the continued availability of medicines, medical supplies, and strategic reserves, thereby reinforcing the healthcare system’s capacity to fulfill its mission efficiently and effectively.

This meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s continuous monitoring of current conditions and its commitment to maintaining the highest levels of readiness, ensuring the sustainability of healthcare services and the protection of public health.
