Secretary-General of the GCC Council: Iran’s treacherous targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan constitutes “war crimes”

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as their infrastructure and civilian facilities, which resulted in injuries to several civilian workers in Kuwait.

In a statement issued by the Council’s General Secretariat, he emphasized that Iran’s actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation, representing a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and amounting to war crimes that warrant international accountability and sanctions. He stressed that these attacks, which deliberately targeted infrastructure and civilian facilities, blatantly contravene all established international norms and treaties, and further undermine the security and stability of the region.

Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed that the GCC stands united with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, supporting all measures they undertake to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also expressed his best wishes for the swift recovery of those injured in Kuwait.
