Qatar condemns renewed Iranian attacks on its territory and those of Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan

The State of Qatar strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on its territory and on the territories of Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, deeming them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states, as well as a flagrant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a dangerous escalation that could complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. It held Iran fully legally responsible for these attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences.

The Ministry further affirmed that Qatar reserves its full right to respond in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter, and to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and citizens. It reiterated Qatar’s full solidarity with sister states and its support for any legitimate measures they undertake to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

It stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region, and for refraining from any steps that could widen the scope of escalation, as well as for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations, and for adhering to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
