Food Authority: 315 violation reports issued in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

The Kuwait General Authority for Food and Nutrition issued 315 violation reports targeting food establishments in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, which had committed “serious infractions” by distributing expired and adulterated food products and operating without licenses.

In a press statement, the Food Authority said it participated in the expanded security operation carried out yesterday in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, with the participation of 11 government entities to enhance security and safeguard public health.

It clarified that the observed violations included failure to comply with personal and general hygiene requirements and the distribution of food products without approved health certificates.

The Authority reported the “immediate destruction” of food items proven to be unfit for consumption, while the violations were referred to the competent authorities.

It noted that its participation in the campaign was represented by inspection teams from the General Administration of Inspection and Control Affairs, headed by Talal Al-Daihani, Director of the Al-Farwaniya Governorate Inspection Department, with the involvement of 102 inspectors.

It pointed out that this campaign marks “the beginning of a continuous supervisory phase that will extend to cover all Kuwaiti governorates,” reaffirming its commitment to enforcing the law firmly to ensure a safe and clean food environment.
