In Video: Kuwait Fire Department urges checking the hull of boats before sailing

The General Fire Force has urged beachgoers to adhere to safety procedures before embarking on maritime trips, emphasizing that proper preparation helps reduce accidents and enhances everyone’s safety. In an awareness video published on its official platforms, the Force outlined key guidelines, including checking weather conditions before sailing, inspecting the boat’s hull to ensure it is seaworthy, and verifying the functionality of navigational and lighting equipment.

It stressed the necessity of having essential safety equipment on board, foremost among them life jackets, distress signals, a fire extinguisher, and a first-aid kit, along with sufficient fuel, food, and drinking water appropriate for the duration of the trip.

The Force also advised against sailing in restricted areas, knowing the coordinates and route of the journey, and not hesitating to contact the emergency hotline when needed. It reaffirmed that complying with these guidelines helps preserve lives and property and ensures safe maritime excursions.
