Customs Authority Organizes Specialized Workshop to Enhance Inspectors' Skills in Distinguishing Genuine from Counterfeit Goods

As part of the General Directorate of Customs’ commitment to developing national competencies and enhancing customs performance efficiency, the Intellectual Property Rights Department, in coordination with the Administrative Development and Training Department, organized a specialized workshop titled “Distinguishing Between Counterfeit and Genuine Goods,” in collaboration with Bayt Al-Hikma Consulting Company. The event was held at the Customs Auditorium in the Shuwaikh (3) area.

The workshop aimed to strengthen customs inspectors’ skills in identifying counterfeit goods and verifying their authenticity, thereby supporting efforts to protect intellectual property rights, curb the entry of counterfeit products into the country, and enhance customs inspection efficiency in line with best practices.

The General Directorate of Customs emphasized that this workshop is part of its continuous training programs designed to qualify its human resources and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to keep pace with developments in customs operations. These initiatives aim to enhance performance quality and contribute to protecting society and the national economy from the risks posed by counterfeit goods.
