Mohammed Shams reveals the secret of “Layl Kharmais” to Al-Anbaa

Bahraini writer Mohammed Shams revealed to Al-Anbaa the real reason behind the choice of the title for his new series, “Layl Khrmas,” clarifying that the title was not in its current form from the outset, as the original name of the work was simply “Khrmas.”

Shams stated that the word “Khrmas” is a colloquial term commonly used in the Gulf region, but he opted to add the word “Layl” (Night) to the title after considering whether new generations and the Arab audience outside the Gulf would be familiar with this term. He noted that the modification was made to make the title clearer and easier to grasp, without losing its local identity.

He added that choosing “Layl Khrmas” was not merely a superficial change, but because the new title also harmonizes with the atmosphere and events of the dramatic series, making it the most suitable option for the final title.

This statement coincides with the official launch of preparations for the series, which marks a new collaboration between writer Mohammed Shams and actress Huda Hussein. It is also their first partnership with Saudi producer Ali Al-Ali, through Bright Lens Media Production. The series will be directed by Egyptian director Motaaz Hossam, with filming set to begin in early September. The series will consist of 10 episodes.
