Director Ammar Tamim continues filming the series “Bayt al-Yasmeen” (The Jasmine House), one of the first productions to enter the implementation phase in preparation for its broadcast in next year’s Ramadan drama season, a move that reflects the trend among Syrian production companies toward early preparation to ensure marketing, distribution, and competitiveness. The creators of the series aim to deliver a work that blends the spirit of traditional Syrian culture with modern dramatic treatment, combining social, humanistic, and suspenseful elements.
“Bayt al-Yasmeen” belongs to the fantasy genre inspired by the Syrian milieu. Its story unfolds within a Damascus house that serves as the central axis of the narrative, where the fates of several characters intersect, each harboring secrets and intertwined conflicts. The plot explores themes of love, betrayal, and the struggle for power and social status, alongside the psychological and human transformations experienced by the characters over time.
The storyline relies on multiple dramatic threads that gradually intertwine to form a single narrative, blending symbolism with social drama, while focusing on complex human relationships and the vicissitudes of fate within a society governed by customs and traditions. The fantasy element also provides the series with a broader space for dramatic imagination, moving away from the conventional treatment typical of works set in the Syrian milieu.
The series stars actor Abdul Moneim Omari, alongside a large cast of prominent Syrian drama artists, including Nadine Khoury, Abeer Shams al-Din, Amanah Alali, Dana Jaber, Wael Zidan, Alaa Al-Mufti, and Reem Abdulaziz, with new names continuing to join during various stages of filming. Additionally, the series features the participation of actor Imad Farajin in his first foray into Syrian drama, portraying the character “Adham” within a dramatic line that combines comedy with humanistic depth, adding a distinct flavor to the events.
