The Ministry of Interior launches the "Be Aware" campaign to enhance security awareness and introduce the Ministry's services

Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, accompanied by several field security leaders, inaugurated the awareness exhibition “Be Aware” at The Avenues Mall, under the patronage of strategic partner Ooredoo Kuwait. The event aims to enhance security awareness, disseminate security culture, and introduce the services provided by the Ministry’s various sectors.

Major General Al-Wahib toured the pavilions of the participating sectors and departments, and listened to explanations regarding the services offered, as well as the awareness and educational messages targeting different segments of society.

The exhibition features the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, the General Directorate of Forensic Evidence, and the Cybercrime Combat Department. These entities present awareness programs highlighting the dangers of narcotics and prevention methods, showcase the latest forensic evidence technologies, and raise awareness about the risks of cybercrimes, prevention measures, and reporting mechanisms.

The Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, also participates, presenting the key amendments to Traffic Law No. 5 of 2025, smart surveillance technologies, and traffic services offered to the public. Additionally, it provides several services, including the payment of traffic fines, lifting of vehicle blocks, and the release of impounded vehicles.

The Human Resources and Information Technology Affairs Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Security Systems, showcases the latest systems and technological services supporting digital transformation and the development of the security infrastructure.

The Coast Guard Directorate General also participates, highlighting its efforts to enhance maritime security and safety, introducing key maritime laws and services, and providing various services related to marine licenses and vessels.

The exhibition sheds light on prominent newly enacted legislation, including the Law on Maritime Facilities and Floating Units No. 61 of 2026, as well as laws concerning narcotics control and maritime safety. It features interactive screens, awareness brochures, and displays of various security mechanisms and equipment, all aimed at informing the public about the nature of security agencies’ work and strengthening community awareness.

Visitors can benefit from several direct services, including biometric fingerprinting, payment of fines, lifting of blocks, release of vehicles (with the exception of certain serious violations), and the issuance and renewal of marine licenses, as well as the transfer of ownership of marine vessels and payment of marine fines.

The organization of the “Be Aware” exhibition aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to strengthen community partnership, disseminate security culture, and introduce modern laws and services provided by its various sectors. These initiatives contribute to raising the level of security and legal awareness and consolidating the partnership between the security institution and members of society.
