Lessons in the Time of the Storm

The Middle East has witnessed rapid developments, escalating to the point of military confrontation among major powers, a scenario that imposes itself as an undeniable reality. Given the geographic location of Kuwait and the Gulf states, we found ourselves within the circle of impact from this conflict, despite not being a party to it. As the region entered a climate of tension, accompanied by anxiety and fears, we today pause to reflect on what is happening around us. Despite the harshness of the scene, this ordeal carries valuable lessons that, over time, may transform into a blessing bringing good to Kuwait, its people, and all who live on its soil.

First, the government swiftly took immediate action, holding continuous meetings and raising the level of military readiness to protect lives and strengthen the defense system. From this, we learned the importance of preparedness and entrenching a culture of security and defense.

Second, crisis management emerged as a fundamental element, through rapid decision-making, organizing efforts, and providing basic necessities. We learned how to manage crises with wisdom and planning.

Third, this ordeal revealed the paramount importance of security readiness in facing internal and external dangers and threats, and confirmed that treason against the homeland has no place among us, and that an aggressive neighbor can no longer be trusted. We learned the necessity of raising the level of preparedness and dealing with challenges efficiently and with awareness to enhance our security and stability.

Fourth, the crisis raised questions again about the priorities of foreign aid, highlighting the importance of directing it according to a studied vision that achieves real and sustainable impact. We learned that giving is not based on intention alone, but requires wisdom in assessment and sound guidance.

Fifth, the need to regulate charitable work emerged to ensure it serves society with transparency and responsibility, and to emphasize the rejection of its exploitation to achieve goals harmful to the homeland.
