The Al Babtain Group, the local partner of Leapmotor, has continued its preparations to support the brand’s presence in the local market by building early awareness of its luxury identity and smart technologies, aligning with Kuwaiti customers’ aspirations for modern vehicles that combine elegance, comfort, and efficiency.
The Leapmotor L8 comes equipped with an integrated parking assistance solution featuring two main functions: Automatic Parking Assist (APA) and Remote Parking Assist (RPA). Working in tandem with the 540-degree transparent panoramic camera system, these functions rely on a Level 2 intelligent driving hardware platform to provide smooth and reliable support during parking maneuvers.
When the Automatic Parking Assist system is activated, the vehicle can identify parallel, perpendicular, and angled parking spaces, assisting with steering, acceleration, deceleration, and braking. The system also aids the driver when maneuvering in very tight spaces or in dimly lit underground parking lots.
The Remote Parking Assist function allows vehicle control via a smartphone or smart key, eliminating the need for repeated entry and exit from the car in confined areas. During hot or rainy weather, drivers can remain in a comfortable spot within the camera’s line of view while remotely parking the vehicle. The 540-degree transparent panoramic camera system provides a comprehensive view around the vehicle and underneath the chassis, helping to reduce blind spots. Additional features such as lane-following assist and rear cross-traffic alert further alleviate stress associated with parking. At any time during operation, the driver can intervene, regain control, or deactivate the parking assistance functions.
These technologies address daily challenges faced by drivers in the Middle East, including Kuwait, such as prolonged exposure to extreme heat and difficulty finding parking spaces in major shopping malls. Shopping centers and luxury hotels in the region often feature expansive, multi-level parking facilities with complex layouts, making parking more time-consuming during peak hours.
