"Security": Cooperation with Jordan contributes to the development of national capabilities

The team working on the establishment of the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management (Aman) affirmed that cooperation between Kuwait and Jordan, and the building of an institutional partnership, contribute to developing national capacities, enhancing preparedness, and supporting efforts to create an integrated national center for emergency, crisis, and disaster management in accordance with the best international standards.

This came in a press statement issued by the “Aman” team, a copy of which was received by KUNA following the team’s visit to the Jordanian National Center for Security and Crisis Management, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and benefit from pioneering experiences in the field of emergency, crisis, and disaster management.

The statement said: “The visit comes in implementation of the directives of the leadership aimed at building an integrated national system for emergency, crisis, and disaster management, and in order to learn about best institutional practices in the areas of command and control, national coordination, decision-making support, enhancing preparedness, and response.”

It added that the team received a comprehensive briefing on the tasks and operational mechanisms of the Jordanian National Center, covering its organizational structure, operations management system, information and communications technology, the media response unit, and the studies and evaluation department.

It noted that the team reviewed coordination mechanisms among national entities during various stages of emergencies, crises, and disasters, and held a technical discussion session with the Jordanian side addressing ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise and knowledge in areas of mutual interest.

The “Aman” team delegation conducted a field tour inside the center’s facilities, during which it observed the operations center, event management mechanisms, and decision-support systems, aiming to benefit from the Jordanian experience and apply best practices to the project of establishing Kuwait’s National Center.

On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation met with Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraiyya to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the two brotherly countries in the fields of emergency and crisis management.
