"What is Love?"... Roubi's Summer Surprise

Cairo - Kholoud Abu Al-Majid

The summer 2026 season is witnessing strong competition among a large number of singing stars, and artist Romy is continuing her preparations to participate in this artistic race by releasing a new mini-album titled "Al Hob Eih" (What is Love). This release represents one of the season’s most prominent surprises, particularly because it combines musical diversity with the light, summery vibe for which the artist has become known in recent years.

Romy announced the details of the mini-album via her official social media accounts, revealing the tracklist and the production team that collaborated with her on the project. This move has sparked anticipation and excitement among her fans, who are eagerly awaiting her return with new musical works following the success of her recent concerts and songs.

The mini-album features only four tracks, reflecting a trend that has gained significant popularity in the music market recently. Many artists now prefer releasing shorter works comprising a curated selection of songs rather than traditional full-length albums, aligning with the nature of digital platforms and the rapid dissemination of music to audiences.

The album’s lead single, "Al Hob Eih," features lyrics by Mostafa Hadouta, composition by Attar, and arrangement by Colpix. Maher Salah handled the mixing and mastering. The song is expected to serve as the album’s primary face, thanks to its catchy title, which reflects the romantic atmosphere the project aims to convey.

The second track, titled "Mesh Maghoura" (Not Arrogant), features lyrics by Hussein Khaled, with composition and musical arrangement by Jordanian artist Ardine. This collaboration highlights Romy’s commitment to presenting diverse musical styles that cater to various tastes while maintaining her distinctive artistic identity.

The album also includes the song "Al Nas Al Wahshin" (The Wild People), a collaboration between Romy and poet and composer Aziz Al-Shafie, one of the leading figures in Egyptian music in recent years. Al-Shafie wrote the lyrics and composed the music, while Amin Nabih handled the musical arrangement, mixing, and mastering. This partnership is expected to deliver a work with a modern and distinct rhythm.

Romy closes the mini-album with the track "Qalb Mamy" (Mamy’s Heart), which carries a different vibe. The lyrics were written by Flaviano, while Ahmed Tarek Yahya composed the melodies and musical interludes. The musical arrangement was handled in collaboration with Moaz Hamed, and Hany Mahrous supervised the mixing and mastering. Thus, the production team comprises a group of prominent names in the music industry.

The release of "Al Hob Eih" comes at a time when the Arabic music market is experiencing notable activity, with production companies and digital platforms competing to launch new works to attract audiences during summer holidays. This context positions the mini-album as one of the most anticipated releases in the coming period.

Romy is currently preparing a promotional plan for the album, which involves releasing the songs sequentially across various music platforms, alongside publishing promotional materials and teaser clips on her official accounts. These efforts aim to enhance audience engagement with the project prior to its full release.
