Medbouly: Agriculture sector witnesses unprecedented qualitative leap

Cairo – Ahmed Sabri: Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli affirmed that the agricultural sector is witnessing an unprecedented qualitative leap in line with the state’s vision and its strategy to expand agricultural and livestock production, aiming to meet local market needs and enhance Egyptian exports in this vital sector, which is among the key sectors the state relies on to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development.

This came during the inspection tour conducted by the Prime Minister of several agricultural and livestock production projects in the governorates of Giza and Beheira, accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouq, Deputy Minister Eng. Mustafa El-Sayed, and several officials from agricultural projects and livestock production.

Madbouli noted that the state has placed food security and the development of rural Egypt at the forefront of its strategic priorities, which has effectively contributed to transforming chronic challenges faced by the sector into promising developmental opportunities. He stated that the state continues its intensive efforts to develop the livestock sector, with the aim of enhancing food security, securing citizens’ needs for meat and dairy products, and narrowing the gap between local production and consumption, thereby contributing to stability in the local market and reducing reliance on imports.

The Prime Minister added, “We continue our tours of several private sector projects in livestock and agricultural production, as part of efforts to encourage this sector to increase its investments in these projects.”
