Al-Yousef: Al-Jleeb campaign marks the beginning of a continuous phase covering Kuwait's governorates, with no leniency toward non-compliant properties, and all legal measures will be taken against them.

Under the direct supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, with close follow-up by Assistant Minister of Interior for General Security Affairs Acting Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahab, and the presence of Assistant Minister of Interior for General Security Affairs Acting Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, the Ministry of Interior, represented by several of its sectors, carried out a comprehensive security operation today, Wednesday, in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. The operation involved various state entities as part of joint efforts to enhance security and reinforce the rule of law.

The campaign included participation from the four military entities (Kuwait Army, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait National Guard, and General Fire Service), the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Public Authority for Manpower, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, the Kuwait Municipality, and the Medical Emergency Administration of the Ministry of Health.

The campaign aimed to identify violations related to buildings and encroachments on state property, evacuate buildings and plots that are dilapidated or non-compliant, and address residential units lacking safety and security standards that are overcrowded with single individuals and families, in anticipation of preventing any disasters or accidents. Additionally, the operation targeted violations related to residency affairs, lawbreakers, unlicensed commercial activities in private residences, and activities violating regulatory requirements.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, participating entities, each according to their jurisdiction, began by cordoning off and securing the area, cutting off services to non-compliant buildings, identifying unlicensed activities, residency violations, and encroachments on state property, and issuing necessary violation notices.

Emphasizing humanitarian considerations, the Ministry stated that fully equipped shelter sites were prepared to accommodate those evacuated from non-compliant buildings, providing all necessary comforts for families and expatriate communities.

In this context, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef stated that this campaign marks the beginning of a continuous phase, not the end of efforts, and will not be limited to the Jleeb area alone but will extend to all governorates of the State of Kuwait. He affirmed that Kuwait’s reputation is a top priority and that maintaining the security and safety of everyone living on this blessed land is a responsibility that allows no negligence.

Al-Yousef highlighted the severity of the situation observed today in the Jleeb area, due to the environmental and health pollution it experiences. He noted that among the residents are workers in hospitals and restaurants, which could contribute to the transmission of diseases to them and subsequently to their workplaces, posing a risk to public health.

Al-Yousef stressed that there would be no leniency toward non-compliant properties, affirming that all necessary legal measures would be taken against them, including the demolition of dilapidated or structurally unsound buildings when necessary, to safeguard lives and property.
