3,800 counterfeit goods seized inside two warehouses
Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, revealed that inspection teams, following prior monitoring and surveillance operations, seized two warehouses located in separate buildings containing large quantities of counterfeit clothing and footwear bearing global brand trademarks. Al-Ansari explained that the inspections revealed the violator was displaying and selling these goods to consumers, in clear violation of the legislation governing the protection of intellectual property rights and trademarks. He added that the control teams confiscated 3,800 counterfeit items, and an official seizure report was drawn up to facilitate the completion of legal procedures and referral to the competent authorities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
