Capital Investigations Closes Case of Arson of Two Vehicles in Al-Rouda
Officials from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Capital Criminal Investigations Department, have closed the case of the deliberate arson of two vehicles in the Rawda area, following the arrest of a citizen who confessed to committing the incident. The case details began when a report was received at the operations room indicating that a fire had broken out in Rawda, Plot 2. Security personnel immediately responded to the scene, where the complainant stated that the two damaged vehicles belonged to him and that the fire was the result of deliberate destruction. An inspection revealed that the first vehicle was a 2026 Hunchi model, while the second was a 2013 Dodge model; both had sustained damage due to the fire. The victim identified a citizen born in 1981 as a suspect, suggesting that prior disputes between them may have motivated the incident. A security source stated that investigators launched their inquiries, utilizing surveillance camera footage, which led to identifying and arresting the suspect. He confessed to deliberately setting fire to the two vehicles. The source added that relevant authorities have begun completing the necessary legal procedures against the accused, in preparation for referring him to the competent judicial authority.
